MARSsys introduces new concepts to Spectrum Management and Analysis providing accuracy in analysis functions, consistency in user, organization and assignment management, and superior interoperability options. MARSsys is currently the only system to offer compatibility to the latest NATO SMADEF-XML format. In Addition, MARSsys provides advanced technical analysis and a data management functions with integrated Geographical Information System (GIS) support, and a web based messaging interface for nationwide users, offering one of the best solutions available on the market today. MARSsys consists of three integrated sub-systems each providing distinct set of advanced features: FIMS, SMAS, WEB IM.

SMAS v3.8 (Spectrum Management Analysis Software)


SMAS is the technical analysis component for the system performance assessments for both military and civil applications. It provides efficient frequency assignment analysis capabilities. Detection of conflicts are supported by interference resolution solutions. SMAS is designed to be a problem solving environment featuring a wide range of solution capabilities, including:

  • Coverage analyses - Coverage area contours,
  • Interference analyses - Interference Ratios in between transmitters,
  • Frequency assignment (nomination) analyses,
  • Determination of field strength/received signal values,
  • DTED usage in propagation models

FIMS v3.8 (Frequency Information Management System)


Frequency Information Management System component of MARSsys is developed to support multi-user, joint management of Assignment, Allocation, Interference Reporting, JRFL records; with access to a Spectrum Management Inventory (SMI) consisting of Equipments, Signal Descriptions, Locations, Antennas and Stations. An integrated GIS system provides visual aids and location awareness during information visualization. Using FIMS, coordination of multiple national and international agencies can be simplified more than ever via its data exchange module which provides full compatibility to NATO SMADEF-XML data exchange standard.

Frequency Assignment Management
Definition of Frequency Assignment Systems is made possible via user-friendly, graphical user interfaces allowing flexible drag and drop operations. Integrated access to the Spectrum Management Inventory (SMI) data is provided during Frequency Assignment Process. Dynamic application of sophisticated validation rules in conjunction with role based user access constraints ensures that information entry and access procedures are consistent, coherent and resistant against malicious use.

User and Organization (Unit) Management
User Authentication, Authorization and Role-Based Access Management are supported. Dynamic Organization (Unit) Hierarchy Management is provided via explorer-like interface. Incorporation of Spectrum Management Authorization (SMA) Hierarchy into the Organization Tree ties spectrum management to the organizational structure through an easy to use interface. Organization-Centric Spectrum Occupancy Chart Visualization is also provided to present a graphical indication of spectrum usage.

Inventory Management
Inventory Creation and Management Support are made available via an Explorer-Like, flexible navigation interface including: Equipment, Signal Description, Station, Antenna and Location Inventory. An advanced query interface is provided for constructing sophisticated search queries against inventory data.

GIS Integration
Visualization of Systems of Frequency Assignments is provided via an Integrated GIS Module that provides advanced GIS capabilities. Geographic map user interface can be used for interactive location definition and selection, and query result visualization. Two-way interaction between GIS and FM User Interfaces is also possible.

Additional Tools
A Generic Query Module is provided to enable users to pose complicated queries against the FM Data. A Logging Module is made available which records Critical Operations to enable power users to query and inspect the Activity History. A Statistics Module is also available to display important statistical information about frequency assignment operations.

WEB: WEB Messaging Interface


Web component of the MARSsys automates the message sending and tracking procedures for frequency assignment and interference resolution processes. As such, through its lightweight, Internet Explorer based interface it introduces significant flexibility into basic but frequently used messaging practices. MARSsys deployment model can be customized by the selection of appropriate components or modules in accordance with user requirements. Different language options are also available on user demand.
